About Matt
Matt started learning and performing music at the young age of 6, which put his life on a path he would not deviate from. After high school, he attended Texas A&M University, studying music with an emphasis in guitar performance. It was during that time, that he fell in love with audio engineering. Immediately after, Matt attended a technical school for studio and live engineering, followed by an additional degree for music business and law from Austin Community College. After graduating, he did an internship at Premium Studio in Austin TX, owned by Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis.
While attending college, Matt met some other great musician, and created his band, The Followthrough. The group toured for years, including being picked up on a national tour called “The Extreme Tour”. The Followthrough also developed their own dedicate Youtube following with their series of live streams and acoustic renditions of amazing songs.
During the off times with The Followthrough, Matt would go on the road with other artists, and work for local festivals, running front of house sound. Some of these artists include: Aaron Carter, Curtis Grimes, Patrick Sweany, KYLE (K.I.D). He also spent this time sharpening his studio skills. Doing work at such prolific studios as: Blue Rock, Arlyn, Pedernales, Warm Studio.
Matt is an official Ernie Ball and Warm Audio artist.
